Fundraising


Due to the high cost of operations, field rentals, coaching costs, travel and equipment - Mustangs / Evolve players and their parents are required to pay a large portion of the expenses through fees.

Continuing this year, the Mustangs Fundraising Association is operating a fundraising program to enable players and parents to reduce the costs of fees for the program and for travel. The fundraising association is a separate organization from the Mustangs / Evolve businesses.

In the past three years a significant amount has been fundraised for the benefit of the entire club and the members who chose to fundraise individually. A breakdown is available below:

With the Association funds raised in 2017 the Mustangs Fundraising Group purchased the current pinnies for all summer lacrosse participants.

This will equate to a $30 registration saving per person per year for the life of the pinnies - approximately 3 years.

The remainder of the funds provided a BBQ lunch for each field day during the summer lacrosse season.

With the Association funds raised in 2018 the Mustangs Fundraising Group has planned the following:

  • BBQ meals provided each field day

  • Cash donation towards purchase of trailer for storing and hauling Mustangs/ Evolve game day equipment/ gear

  • Purchase of dedicated BBQ and propane tank

  • Unbranded shade tent/ shelter for additional shelter during summer field days and fall practices

 

The majority of the Association-raised funds collected during the season are the result of our raffle ticket sales.

Although these are technically optional participation, there is an expectation that all players support the club by selling tickets.

For 2019 we will be running a Cash Calendar Raffle again. Tickets will be sold during the month of July and the raffle will be drawn every day for the month of August.

 

The Mustangs Fundraising Association has paired up with COBS Bread located at 130th Ave SE for the season. If you visit the location just let them know that you are with Mustangs Field Lacrosse and a percentage of your purchase will be donated back to the association.


 

OPTIONAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS

Fundraising campaigns are held during the year. Participation is optional, but we ask that you support as many as you can. 80% of the profits from the optional fundraising campaigns are held in a personal account for each registered player and the remaining 20% is held by the association. This money can be used toward the registered player’s program fees and travel fees.

You will receive more detailed information regarding fundraisers as the year goes by.

 

PLANNED OPTIONAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS FOR THE 2019 SEASON - SALES

The fundraising account credits are applied to program payments. Fundraising credits can be used to fund any programming in the current year that has not begun or programming the following year.

The credits could be used for an additional family member (or friend) joining the Mustangs / Evolve programs.

If a member decides not to register for further programming through Mustangs / Evolve any unused credits will be donated to the Jordan McKinnon Scholarship Fund to help finance individuals who otherwise could not participate.

PLANNED OPTIONAL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS FOR THE 2019 SEASON - BOTTLE DRIVES

For 2019, the fundraising group have planned 8 bottle drives between the months of May to November. 100 % of the proceeds from bottle drives will be split based on the number of registered players helping.
